What examples?

hilton, marriott, spg & hyatt are 4 programs & by my definition that is 'a lot'....there are lots of airline programs that do so as well....try doing a search on the t&c of different programs & you will get your answer....
SPG and Hyatt never deleted my accounts. Hilton did.

i agree some chains may not delete your account (even though the t&c claims that they will) but you cannot turn around & cry foul if they do....
I can turn around and cry "stupid" as much as I want and I resent you saying otherwise.

now, since you are arguing just for the sake of arguing,
Pot, meet kettle.

i agree....it sucks & i don't agree with this policy but it is the way it is....
THEN WHY ARE YOU ARGUING WITH US?

you can still use it as a paperweight....no one stopping you from doing that....
Now you're being silly.

all jokes apart, here is the deal....i agree that it is stupid to close the account....i agree that most other chains usually won't close your account even though their t&c claim that they do....i agree hilton does it more often than others....but at the end of the day, they are simply following the rules of their program....rules that we agreed to abide by if we want to be part of their programs....
What is your ever-loving point with the "rules we agreed to abide by" nonsense? No one is saying they CAN'T, we're saying they SHOULDN'T. And are hoping Hilton will stop doing this nonsense for their own sakes.

hilton obviously feels they have a good reason to close these accounts....good for them....they may lose some business due to this but that's their headache....
They lose money and I am inconvenienced.

It's a lose-lose, and I have a really hard time putting up with lose-lose situations.

P.S.... saad, I do understand that we all hate that moment in an argument where we realize we're wrong. We've all been there.
