The ESEA mandated A380 engine inspections have produced an immediate result: LH has found one of the engines on their very new A380 to be defective due to ... oil leaks (surprise, surprise). So all RR Trent 900 models seem to be affected, and worse yet the engine maintenance and inspection schedule originally specified has proven to be inadequate. The symptom showing up so early in the engine service life is quite telling.
