I recently moved to Raleigh, NC which has far better facilities for spotting and photography than the little regional airport in upstate NY that I used to work at and grew up around. That said, I've been heading down there to the stunningly cheap $1/hr parking and trying my hand at some aviation photography. I'm clearly an amateur, but I think I've got a few nice shots out of the mix (judge for yourself).

Now lies my predicament. I'm 4 segments short of making elite with Continental this year, so I need to do a mileage run (well technically a segment run). Due to my hectic work schedule it'll need to be a Saturday day trip, which narrows the possibilities down a tad I know, but I'm looking for recommendations of airports with good on-site spotting facilities. Either part of the terminal, or walkable from the terminal.

There's some "acceptable" fares to DEN, SEA, PHX, and others, but I'm looking for some recommendations here. Obviously the hubs are out as I need to do 4 segments, though I'll most likely pass through one of them.

I'm tentatively looking at 12/4 as the date (my schedule is unfortunately pretty ugly at work at the moment).
