My son was going to spend four hours (i.e. picking up a car every 30 to 45 minutes) this week doing his six car rentals (he only need four but he was going to do six to have 2 extra hits for insurance). He was going to do the rentals at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) since the airport taxes and fees at PHX are so high. Two weeks ago, he went on line to find the best rates and etc. Last week, he went online to book his rentals for this week and most of the rental cars are rented and the lowest rental rate on the remaining cars was $ 100 per day before taxes. He checked with PHX and they had no rental cars available. The reason for all of the cars being rented is NASCAR is in town for the week.
