While I share your sentiment the result is simply to inconvenience the passengers waiting behind you (who probably share your views). The TSA doesn't care how long it takes you to go through security or how long the lines are.
When the lines become untenably long, the procedures will change.
This is, at this point, the ONLY surefire near-term way to effectively produce change.
If everyone did this, if EVERYONE did this, every time, it would all stop.
