I have been trying to book an award ticket on Air China since last Monday. Initially I was told by 1K desk that there was a technical issue with Air China and no reservation can be ticketed for those several days. Today when I called back I was told by an reservation agent that Air China is leaving Star Alliance and may join Delta's Sky Team alliance, so no more award tickets can be booked on it. Is this true? Do any FTers here have any insights about this?
