PNR's cannot be combined. And even if they could, all people on the same PNR need to be booked on the EXACT same itin, which a different flight number would prohibit (but that is moot as you cannot combine anyway, even if in another thread last week a few people claim they have done it.)

Yeah, me too...
You're right about not being able to staple two PNRs together... what I meant to say was "get UA reservations to put Mrs. DCA Writer (with Mini DCA Writer) in E+ even though she's on a separate PNR." I know I've done that before, although it was a year or two back.
