Not really, if you redeem EB points for awards on another *A carrier you will pay the YQ charge. But awards on SK metal is significantly cheaper as YQ is waived, yes.
So, guess the ^ is actually for SAS rev management more than EB itself? Howevere, I presume it was EB that "took the fight" internally.
