It's horses for courses. If you don't know how the system works and want to vent your spleen with others of the same ilk, forums such as moneysavingexpert are the place to post.
What did the OP hope to achieve? I am genuinely interested. Unlike many one hit wonders, the OP knows a very experienced FT'er. There is nothing peculiar about the responses to the OP. The same post with BA and LHR replaced for LH and FRA, AF and CDG, UA and IAD etc would have elicited the same responses on the appropriate boards.
If you pay to fly in cattle, sadly, that's all you get treated like regardless of the carrier.
Why do people who have flown a lot have to be mean to people who haven't? We all have to make our first flights on each airline. I was interested in what the OP had to say - I don't think that there is a requirement that you have to be an expert flyer or only post what one particular FT member wants to read to be able to post on FT. If someone is not interested in a post or a thread they don't have to read it.
Maybe if we were a little more understanding of first time posters' situations and were to offer them kind advice rather than ridicule, more of them would stay around to become second time posters and learn to become more savvy flyers.
