Ever since I found out that the UNESCO "World Heritage Site" register is limited to one new site, per UN member country, per YEAR that passes, I have regarded this programme as just another misguided UN project.

I mean, in Finland for example, the old Suomenlinna Fortress (which I have been to) may be something interesting within the country. But "World Heritage" ?
