Stayed 5 nights at this property. Warning: This property is currently undergoing a restoration and it is LOUD during the day beginning at 9 AM. There isn't a warning or Special Conditions link on the website, but there is renovation going on that will be continuing until June, 2011.

The lobby is very old-world and charming. Usual Kimpton 5 - 6 PM wine hour is hosted in the restaurant which also has a GREAT happy hour menu from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Service in the restaurant is inconsistent but in the bar it was rather good.

Room was very very small and no recognition of Inner Circle benefits until after I spoke with the General Manager (I was leaving early in the AM and didn't receive my amenity until the final night I was there at 8 PM). The gesture was greatly appreciated by me though.

Location is termed "Union Square" but it is about 4 blocks from the main Union Square stores e.g., Macy's. Easy walk to Market Street.

Free internet that worked reliably was available.
