Both are not stellar properties. The CY was a Holiday Inn until a year or so ago and then was completely renovated. Walking anywhere from that location is hazardous. The other property is standard fare Marriott with not much going for it. The trolley (electric rail system) is within walking distance if you are a strong walker; otherwise, you're pretty much isolated. They may shuttle you to the trolley from where you can get to most places of note. I'd pay a few more dollars and look for something closer to downtown. Wish I could have given you better news. The Gaslamp Marriott and the Marriott Marina are the two top Marriott properties in town but on the pricey side.
