Yes, she actually said it - but it was not an announcement on the PA... she was talking to the upfront PAX and this comment was made to us as a disclaimer of sorts so we couldn't come back on her and the other FA's for having no water. Again, I think she invented the 40 minute to be catered estimate that she told us. In hindsight, I wish I had solicted a couple of the bigger gents in FC to volunteer to deplane, huff it back to our original gate and pull the carts off and bring them over to our plane. I'm sure that would have violated like a gazillion DL operational procedures, but that might have been a way to push back on this lame attempt to avoid servicing our flight without riling up the other PAX who wanted to leave as soon as possible to make their revised connections in MSP.
