I've seen it on a few profiles and have no clue what it is, when it was put out there etc.

I did a search on Flyertalk Ambassador on this forum since I didnt know what forum to really address this question and didn't come up with a whole lot so now I'm asking? What on earth is a FT ambassador? how many are there?
