In addition to (obviously) escalating it to CO customer care (or whatever it's called), I'd request to speak to a LH manager while you are in the lounge. Who gives the LH agent the right to confiscate a card that's rightfully yours? I'd call that theft.
The back of CO elite cards actually say that the are property of the airline and must be surrendered when requested.
Regardless, this is a dumb situation that needs to be addressed. Why does it matter what language the card is in?
