According to a few sites I saw on the 'net:

"The FAA estimates that the average flyer now weighs 180 in the summer and 185 in the winter." [Carry on luggage included]

That was mid 2003. They're looking to change that.

That seems out of tune with the figures that ~50% of Americans are obese.
