For 763 F/J service there's usually 3 ways in which meal orders are taken/distributed:
1) Two FA's walk down the aisles at the same time taking orders with pen/paper, starting in the front or back depending on flight #. Meals are then distributed one at a time by hand from the galley when each pax is ready. This is typical for int'l J.
2) Same as above as far as taking orders beforehand with pen/paper. Cooked meals are then loaded onto a cart and distributed by FA's going down the aisles. The meal distribution usually, but not always, starts from the front. So on an odd flight, a pax in the back row would get their order taken first, but might get served last.
3) FA's cook a predetermined # of meals and load onto carts. Two FA's walk the carts down the aisles, taking orders and distributing meals at the same time. This starts at either front or back depending on flight #.
The modified horseshoe or whatever typically only happens on widebody F (762/777) when there are 2 aisles but possibly only 1 FA taking orders.
For flight 6, if you're concerned about getting your choice in meals, I'd go with something in row 2 or 3 if it's open.
