there's the ramada inn in HK, it's CHEAP and is semi-decent/american standards.

The only problem is that it's inconvenient access via MTR (and nothings really near by). However, its close enough to central that you can most likely cab it the entire time you're there for the amount of money you would save. It's about 2-3 metro stops FROM central, but they haven't finished construction of that metro line yet... I bet you this place will raise its prices when that is finished because the hotel is pretty decent.

I'm staying there for a week in December for like 70 bucks a night, including all the fees.

Ohh, they also have a free shuttle that takes you to Hong Kong Station/Central. As well, the trams are outside... tho a cab ride to central will prob cost you less than 2-3 bucks.
