RDM are the miles you can use for tickets. As someone said, they only expire after 18months of inactivity.

EQM are the miles the airline determines your elite status. You reach different status by achieving milestones such as 25,000 or 50,000 on United. They reset every year.


When you book award tickets, the 'miles' are RDM. they will not deduct your EQM when you get your award ticket.

yikes a little spendy to be going one way, but what if you booked a R/T ticket that was $300? Would the 12,500 miles still work?
