So long as I fly at least once a year, my miles will never expire, that seems reasonable. I am looking at my MP profile, it says "LIfetime Flight Miles" those don't expire "Award Miles" and it shows that it does expire.

So which expiration am I going by? I don't trust a UA rep to tell me, I've been down that road before with large companies in general.
Elite Miles & Segments (EQM & EQS) reset on January 1st, every year.
Redeemable Miles (RDM) only reset if inactive more 18 months.
