You don't pay a high enough fare ... fasttrack is a fee service and a few airlines have decided to include it in the ticket price for their J and F passengers. I forget the fee amount but it is something like USD 20, which might be the profit margin for some short routes. Also how many passengers on European flights fail to qualify for expedited processing (British or EU)?
Good point. Actually, quite a few. I have spent too much time in lines at Heathrow at Terminals 1 and 2 after a short hop from Europe. You can fly Swiss into London(or anywhere in the EU) and the wonderful Swiss and people like us Yanks, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, etc., all go to the pee on line where you might have 2 agents working and someone has a visa problem. So actually fast track from Europe would be good and very welcome, that is, for those who pay to fly in Business on a 45 minute flight, okkkkkkkk.
Frankfurt also has a Fast Track but when I landed Lufthansa First there was no line, so no need. Smart, just show your boarding pass, saves money on printing up thousands of the things.
As for the amenity kits, it makes sense to put them out which Air France does. Some airlines prefer the personal touch by going through the cabin at pre-departure with amenities, papers, drinks, customs forms, menus, headsets, etc. Lufthansa First does this very well and the senior crew member introduces him/herself to each passenger. Same on Qantas. American kind of just throws the crap at ya and moves on. ick
With all due respect, American is just not worth the front cabin. When I bought my ticket last night at AA she asked if I wanted to upgrade using miles. I laughed and said no, I am flying Cathay First with my miles. She smiled and nodded.
