I am hoping to fly BHX-DXB very soon on a business class award ticket.

An exception applies to golf bags: you may take one golf bag per person free of charge on top of your standard baggage allowance. This is possible only if your whole journey is operated by KLM or AIR FRANCE.

You are also allowed an extra item of baggage, weighing a maximum of 23kg, on any AIR FRANCE* or KLM flight with a ticket issued after 28 March 2010.

The extra item is a as a GE.

Normally I travel very light (cabin baggage only) for up to three weeks away (it works for me). This trip will be for much longer, and I will need hold luggage, and would like to take my golf clubs.

I am hoping that I have not misread any of the stuff from the KL site. Putting it together, it appears to me that I can take four hold baggage items, plus my golf clubs, plus cabin baggage. I can hardly believe it. Am I correct?

Also, if anyone has experience of taking golf clubs, any tips as to how to pack them would be appreciated.

Also, also, if anyone has recent experience of living in Dubai as an expat, tips would be welcome. Probably best to pm on that, as it is not really something for this forum.
