If UA threw out tens of millions of dollars just to have her name associated with the airline, it could be just as bad, or even worse. Since that money could be used for better improvements in the airline fleet, employee pension & benefits and customer service. You may find a lot of unhappy campers (Employees and PAX alike) if UA went crazy spending to much money to use Oprah's name as a marketing tool.

Why do you think the money went that way instead of the other way?
