Denver airport fiasco today
So got through the main security, and about to head down the escalator to take the train to Terminal C, and folks were coming up the escalator the opposite way. Turned out the trains had stopped working, and apparently there is no alternate access to Terminals B or C. So they had everyone wait until they could get a bus service running to those terminals. After about 20 minutes, they said the buses would run from terminal A, but we needed to go through Terminal A security first. So many hundreds of passengers walk over to Terminal A security and meet with huge lines of people that hardly moved - there is very limited security capacity at Terminal A. After about another 10 minutes, they say the trains are working again, and it'll be much quicker to go back to the main security. So hundreds walk all the way back only to find most of the TSA folks at the main security were on a break - there was hardly anyone there, and of course lines were very long. Finally after getting through security, got to find out only a single train was running out and back, and so there was yet one more long wait for the single train.
I know Denver is not the best organized of airports at the best of times, but I was amazed to find out they have no readily available plan to deal with the train system not functioning.
