How about nominations for the worst lounge? I've been in some pretty dire ones (e.g. DEL, CAI) in the past, but they have always been better than being "outside". Until my recent trip to LVI, that is. It was the first lounge where, after enduring about 30 minutes of sitting on the most uncomfortable sofas in history and crowded in by a large number of standing passengers, I gave up and went into the public lounge and sat on much more comfortable plastic chairs.
You've obviously never been to the SAS lounge used at Seattle. A rotten basement with nasty wine, no windows and some models of SAS DC10s in old livery spread about.
I practically begged the BA lounge to let myself and Mrs Globalste in (who was Gold at the time), they shared the lounge with Lufthansa and I have *Gold. Really frustrating, we wandered the airport instead too...
