Hmm. Not likely. Although you can try. All they can do is say no. Showing actual evidence of "flying BMI" shortly may help your case.
Bear in mind if they match AA Gold = BMI Silver, so you won't get any EGUV's to upgrade with.
Highly unlikely that you'll get any benifit apart from Zone 1 boarding on the ORD-LHR leg alas.
