Does it make sense for me to get one before the other. (i.e does having one of the cards give me a reduction in the annual fee of the other?).

Can anyone suggests the best way of doing the above? (PS I am aware of the 42k promotion)

I may also get the Starwood card but the 75pounds fee is a bit high - may wait for a better offer than the10k points currently available.
As a Plt'm C/card holder I'd ask yourself what the advantage of having one is. If £75 is high then surely £300 is higher.

I have my card purely for the Priority Pass and insurance. The other benefits aren't worth it:
  • Avis rarely give upgrades.
  • SPG, well you're a Gold and that gives nothing - not even lounge access.
  • Hertz, well see Avis!
  • MMR's 1 point per £ not matter what, not 3 (if on BA)
  • No 2-4-1
