OK. Just stayed here. Thoughts as follows:
The rennovation is not completely finished yet- the bedrooms are all completed, however there is a lounge area/connection to some meeting rooms which will be completed in the next few weeks.
Rooms have been rennovated very very well.
Excellent quality finishing, and they look very nice- it seems also as if they have reconfigured, as the rooms myself and my colleagues were staying in are very large for London. Heated bathroom floors, heated towl racks, TV in bathtub, separate shower.
Service is not up to measure. Checking in- I am told to go to the person who is talking on the telephone. He continues to talk on the telephone...
Wake up Call- took about 40 rings for some one to answer the phone to set it.
Breakfast- good quality food, however asking for a fork was a request that needed management intervention- I suggested they just get one from the women laying out forks at all the tables- no, those are HER forks. Strange.
Meeting rooms- Part of Whitehall place. Very nice, very historic, good to use, good ventilation and lighting.
I would say that if you can grab a lowball rate (apparently they have some), and are OK with a really nice room but not accompanying service- then this is a pretty good choice actually. It is a shame because if the service was on the game- this would be an excellent property- however the gaps are very large on this front.
