most airlines , at least on wide bodies, block off sections toward the rear of the plane for families.

if you are not a gold star hero, or paying a premium price, airlines like AA will put you at least one row behind the last latrine, behind the back engine in a dc9.

all luggage including meds and eyeglasses must be checked.
