Frankly, I can't stand it, unless it's a flight mainly for children. "Ladies and gentlemen" is sufficient and adding "boys and girls" makes it sound stupid and inappropriate, as well as childish. Flying is not a children's entertainment show. Besides, if children are not behaving like young ladies or gentlemen, they should not be flying so there is no need for addressing them specifically
