Excess baggage charges have been simplified so there is a standard per kg charge based on where you are travelling from and to:
http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_...ageallowance#C
It's good they are making this transparent, but a bit of a shame they are not moving to a cheaper per piece system as per BA where it becomes not so expensive to add multiple pieces of luggage.
In the free luggage section, I see this clause:
Partly First or Business class and partly Economy class travel
For through journeys where the passenger travels partly on first or Business class and partly on economy class, the free baggage allowance for each portion of travel shall be granted according to each purchased ticket class.
Where a passenger who has paid the First or Business class fare travels on Economy class, the free baggage allowance shall be given based on that for the First or Business class service respectively.
Is this new? I can see this annoying many passengers.
I also wonder if this new policy means CX will continue to give the unofficial 5kg overweight margin free?
