I got a new check card in the mail today from SunTrust. It's a MasterCard and is supposed to replace my old Visa checkcard. I had read that Delta would be offering Mastercard check cards with various banks around the country, so I guess SunTrust switching to MasterCard is the first move in this direction.

Anyway, along with the new card, there is a notice enclosed which announces "Special Bonus: Earn 2,500 Bonus Miles the first time you use your new card!" So that was some unexpected, good news. I simply have to activate my new card and use it once to earn 2500 miles. I'm rather surprised, though, that there hadn't been any announcement about this previously.

Anyway, it's a nice little bonus that makes me happy to have the check card.
