As such, the expectation is that any non-revenue passenger should swap seats with you?

I'm afraid that's neither realistic nor logical. I think the deadheading FA was showing admiral restraint by being polite to someone demanding unreasonable things.

Finally, your statements don't seem to match. In your first sentence, you said your fle "AA First paid" but then finished with "credit the segment upgrades back". Thus I would conclude your "paid First" is actually "upgrade First".

Being PLT doesn't mean any AA employee should immediately give away before your every whim.
