Great advice about the BA Exec club. In fact, I did signup for the club before I left on my flight and I tried to redeem points but I was too far away from the date of travel (minimum 3 days before u can redeem unclaimed points according to the baec website).

I'm in Dubai now , landed a few days back, and I just tried redeeming points again for the flight I have recently flown from yvr-lhr-dxb. Took me a bit to find the British Airways ticket number but I eventually found it (somehow sabre sent me the e-ticket and I was directed to virtuallythere.com for my ticket details and itinerary). The British Airways ticket number was in tiny print on the sabre virtuallythere site. Anyways, now I have 8,116 miles and 60 British Airways points!!! It's not much, but I guess that's a good start

Now, if I can only convince BA to let me redeem the points or miles for a class upgrade
