Did a search, couldn't find the answer:

I'm almost definitely doing over 10,000 miles with AA in 90 days. That means a definite 5000 q-points. With a little extra effort I can make sure to get 10000 q-points and thus get a plat challenge done.

However, these are nearly the only flights of the year for me (going to be in the woods for six months). Do I get the gold mileage bonuses on any flights I take between 5000 and 10000 q-points: in other words, does the plat challenge stop at gold along the way, or do I go zero-to-platinum? The answer to this question could make a gold challenge more profitable for me as I would get the 25% bonus miles on the last few segments of the trips, whereas I wouldn't finish the plat challenge until my last segment, and therefore would receive almost no benefit from it.

Can somebody wiser in the ways of AA (almost anybody, I'm a UA/WN flyer 90% of the time) advise me?
