I have an iPad and a MacBookAir. I am still traveling with both "just in case", however I have generally been leaving the MacBookAir in the hotelroom for the past 3 months, getting along fine with the iPad.
I do a lot of training, seminars and presentations as well, and I have not had any issues going a full day without charging. The only issue was, that I had to simplify some of the animations on some of my keynote presentations a bit, to make them look right on the iPad.
I may just decide that this week, when heading to China, I won't even bother to bring along the MacBookAir. It does Pages and Keynote well enough, with the currently lacking-behind-point being Numbers. Alas, I am not a big spreadsheet user.....
I've btw. gotten used to the virtual keyboard to the point that I do type quite fast enough on that and can dispense of dragging along a physical keyboard. Neato!
