I have an issue with traffic cameras being run by for-profit companies. I especially have an issue with using them for rolling-stop right turns on red. If right turns at an intersection are unsafe, then post/enforce "no right on red". Don't slap up a camera.

I've thought it would be funny to find non-permanent ways to mess with the cameras. Most of them use a strobe light to flash the picture at night. Mounting a standalone camera flash near your license plate in optical slave mode would blind the camera when it took a picture of your car. Paintball guns would also be fun. So would lighting the camera with a tripod-mounted laser from a thousand yards out so the sensor was overloaded.
