Apropos of what WillTravel4Food posted above, below is pictured a complete panel of aluminum aircraft “skin”. Notice the corner radii of the individual sections between where it will be attached to the structural membranes. That will explain “the neatly rounded corners" that KD5MDK thought “looked very suspicious”.
