I do not think ANYTHING will work , Verizon is CDMA , Europe is mostly GSM,

So unless someone put up a CDMA network in Italy its the wrong system.

tiny chance that your HTC Incredible has European GSM bands, there are a couple Verizon Blackberrys that do, so check your owners book and see,
