BA uses Amadeus and AA Sabre. If you knows your AA Sabre record locator, you can change your seats at any time.
I suggest the OP calls AA and gets their Sabre PNR and changes their AA seats. The agent on the phone can also assist in this.
Just to save any confusion for others reading this thread later as the OP I can confirm that the solution to my problem provided by BA6501 work perfectly.
