You can get a bus to Centre Pier from Ekamai bus station and then a boat over to Koh Chang, the sky train in Bangkok runs straight to Ekamai bus station. Buses go straight through to the pier at 07.45 and 09.45 every day and cost about 244 bahts, get there half an hour before they go for a ticket. They take 5 hours, stopping for about 3/4 of an hour en route. The ferries run every hour from centre pier and take about 1/2 an hour, so you should be on the island by 4 pm. Get on a songhthaw. Ask the driver to drop you off at White Sand Beach resort, which is on your right hand side at the top of the hill before you start going down into the resort of White Sand Beach. Walk down the hill. It's very steep and you go past the monkey viewing point on the way down. There is a guard hut at the bottom of the hill and once at the bottom follow the path to your right to reception. Bungalows are strung out along the beach, most of them with fantastic sea views, and all with balconies. There is a restaurant on site where you can order meals, beer, water and email home, and a small beach bar at the far end by the rocks. If you want total privacy, peace and quiet, fantastic views and a lovely walk along the beach to restaurants and bars, this is the place for you.
