It's only on Airbusses and it seems to coincide with the retraction of the under-carriage. When the beep happens the "Exit" lights above the emergency exits flash.

Similarly there is a similar beep when on final approach when the under-carrriage comes down and locks - and again the "Exit" lights flash.
