Sorry - I'm not a regular on this part of the board and my searching turned up nothing - thanks for the link!

AA would need slots at MAN, in that they do have to let the Airport Authority (Manchester Airport plc) know they want to fly the route, and MAPLC has to approve the timings. Unlike congested airports like LHR this is purely a formality but it is a precursor to commencing service.
