Rick no issues in YYZ with 2 bags. I go through with a travelpro carry on and my computer bag 15'' with 2 laptops. I only had problems once at the beginning of the year after where AA told me to check my travelpro.. after a a few months .. back to normal.
I try to avoid 6.15am flight since it is a no-sleep night for me but for central america it looks like only option and good for 401 traffic.
if you do 9am traffic in the 401 can be bad.. so you have to leave home early.
I would choose 2pm with short connection if you can afford to miss the flight. it is a better option more sleep , less imm-security lines, less traffic.
depends of the day of the week the lines in imm and security can be big in the morning..
I use nexus .. no need to lineup for immigration highly recommended.

Now, with MIA in better order I am thinking to fly MGA via MIA early next month.
The venerable 615 am YYZ-MIA flight offers the best connection and arrival but I am wondering how well things are being handled for security, carry-on and the like at the 4 a.m. kickstart to the day. I do have the option of the 9 am flight and long connections with a later arrival or the 240pm departure with a short connection (maybe too short) in MIA.
I travel with a computer bag with 17" laptop so it is larger than some and a regulation maybe even smallish roller for the rest.
Any issues with the two bags, computer bags and pockets etc., or other things to consider on this route?
