Welcome to FlyerTalk,
pmclendo.
For future tennis trips, I would suggest a hardshell suitcase with plenty of padding wrapped round the racquet(s) inside.
For structural reasons, the entire cross-section of the aircraft is pressurized. If the baggage hold losses pressurization, so does the cabin, and I'm sure that experience would be all your daughter talks about for a while.

How about just welcoming new members and politely providing useful information that will help with their current situation & future travels?

It's a forum for discussions of SkyMiles and the airlines that participate in SkyMiles, in this case just Delta. If she has an issue or something to discuss regarding Delta, it's relevant.
If the post actually belongs elsewhere, I'm sure the moderators will move it.
