I've got a longhaul flight in 3 days, which am dreading as is paid for by another company & in Y...just currently trying to extract the booking ref. off of them - so can plug it in to see what, if any, upgrade options I have.

Am I right in presuming, from scanning these threads...that Y to J will be impossible, regardless of what willing to pay? Also is there any chance of any MFU options? There certainly weren't a few years ago, the last time I followed these things, so would be shocked if so.

Any other advice extremely gratefully appreciated...as looks like am doomed in Y (not flown it since the £120 to HKG deal in '05...but even then I got the honeymoon seats on the 747 going out, & upgraded to WT+ on the return), since cancelling it & booking my own reward or cash J ticket (no F on the flight) would cause too much grief with the company's arrangements & my missus's sense of 'waste of money'...but upgrading the existing ticket would be acceptable to all!
