When I was coming back from Munich in CE recently - I dropped my bags at the CE check in and the very nice lady asked my if I wanted to browse the shops or go straight through security. I said the latter - and she personally escorted me (i.e. left the check in desk empty) to the very front of the security queue. No one seemed surprised about this apart from me....and I'm only silver now.
