Lots of red flags, so I was questioned by a dozen or so people & body searched (pat down). I am (a Flyertalker!):
- solo traveler
- full passport
- very little baggage (a backpack)

When I came back from the body search room, I did not see my backpack & was told I could pack up the contents of my messenger bag picked apart & scattered in a big gray bin. My laptop sleeve was empty, so I asked for the computer and was told it was "in checked bag." The electric cart took me to the plane just as boarding was wrapping up. Once on the plane, I realized I was also missing cords & my zip lock baggie of liquids.

At EWR, I picked up my backpack from the carousel to clear customs & security, opened it up and no netbook. Went to file a report & headed to my next gate. Checked in w/ SFO bag services and found out my "other bag" was going to be flown in on UA the next day. Turns out the netbook & hopefully its cords were packaged separately & put on board. If Israeli had told me to look for a 2nd "bag" to pick up at EWR, I wouldn't be so ruffled.

The netbook is at SFO & I will probably pick it up during transit on Thursday.
