it will be free for the first year, you will get 20K points...if you do this now, they should post by end of next month and then you can convert them to BA at 1 to 1.5 and basically add 30K BA miles to your BAEC....then start to accumulate Avion points...that can be convered to BA...

you can even take advantage of the AMEX SPG sign up bonus to get a few more BA miles from the SPG to Amex conversion....

BTW, given you got 3 TD points for every $$...it is not as bad as others seem to suggest...probably works out to about 53000 BA miles if you were using the RBC BA card or 53000 Avion points...

so not the best redemption out there but not the most horrible one either....
