SunTrust is switching all its debit cards to MasterCard. Check the insert included with your new card - if it labels the cards Classic or Platinum, it's an old insert from the Visa cards. The MasterCards are called Classic or World. The bonus is tripled until the end of the year: 7,500 bonus miles for Classic, 15,000 for World.
However... if you already had a SkyMiles check card, you should have received the enrollment bonus the first time you used your SkyMiles Visa Check Card for a signature-based purchase. I'm rather doubtful that you will receive it again.
My 2 new MC ones also recently showed up, Business & World, the inserts are branded w MasterCard logos and mention the first purchase bonus miles (5,000 for each). Well not really an insert, but the page that the cards were stuck to for mailing, if that makes sense. I asked a guy at my local SunTrust branch and he said yes, you do get the bonus, even if you got it with the Visa-branded card. My first purchases just posted, late as compared to earlier SunTrust timeline, with no bonus. So we'll see.
